Who is going to be the next Unicorn?

Who is going to be the next Unicorn?

Portugal had the highest number of startups represented at this year’s WebSummit. In fact, Portugal has managed to become in the past years a country which, given its relatively small size, concentrates a lot of tech-related value.

In the past decade a couple of unicorns were born in Portugal… although you can not find them in our native Portuguese fauna… 🙂  The first one was FarFetch when by 2015 has reached unicorn status. The more recent one- Sword Health  has broken the news when raised €189 million in a series D funding round.  And more are in the pipeline…

Besides these home-grown “stories”, we are seeing a lot of foreign-based entrepreneurs coming to the country to set up their own startup.  My theory is that, in Portugal, they found the right ecosystem to thrive, one with mild weather, beautiful sceneries, great food and last but not the least a particularly high-skilled workforce and a business-friendly environment.

Within this scope, we will be organising Demo Days with startups that are already under our portfolio.  On this coming Monday 6nd December – 5,30 PM (GMT time) , we will be having Fractaal  that is a result of The Venture Builder´s innovative Softlanding Program.  If you are interested in getting to know more about our Softlanding Program, you can enrol here.

Hopefully, we hope you are excited with this project as much as we are. Therefore we would like very much to invite you to become part of our “Venture Builder family”.

Hope to  see you there.
